Eye Candy

This is a beautiful little storefront on Boston's famous Newbury Steet.  I love window shopping not so much for the stuff inside, but the curb appeal and this shop has that in spades. Something about it was just so charming, the colors, the awnings, the topiaries, the glowing lamp inviting you in. Then on top of that, the sun was dabbling through the trees on this gorgeous blue awning creating a fun play of light and shadows. Do you ever find yourself staring at pretty houses or pretty storefronts just drinking it in? For me it feels like eye candy and I need to get my fix every now and then. Almost as good as chocolate, I said almost!
It was quite a stretch for me to tackle this subject (far cry from shoes and critters) but hopefully is strengthened my painting muscles.  I would love to hear your comments

  1. I'm thrilled that you tackled this! Paint what you love! I don't just stare at house fronts. I wait for Sunday and go into the Open Houses!

  2. Cool! My favorite part is the reflections on the glass, of the street & cars going by - wooo! I love that you're getting outside your comfort zone, too. Every once in a while, it's good to stretch those muscles!
