Aren't these pretty pears? I came home from the grocery store one day with these luscious pears, put them in a bowl. loved how the light was hitting them and thought hmm, those would make a great painting and thus I painted them. Love when that happens.

Hey, how are those New Year's Resolutions going?  It's mid January have you lost your mojo, have you found yourself all ready slipping on things.  Do you find yourself procrastinating?  Darn, and you thought it would be different, right? Is the old - I will just force myself technique - just not working?  It will work for a while and then you slip into old behaviors. Ucky, Yucky Poo! I hate when that happens.

So we need to go under the surface of this thing.  Warning! warning! warning! A little navel gazing coming up.  So instead of just labeling yourself as lazy - ( and we all know how effective it is to beat ourselves up) lets look at what things you might be telling yourself under the surface.

Okay, you have an idea, the idea may have even been heavenly inspired.  And then when it's time to take action you fizzle out. The mind chatter kicks in (you might not even hear it if your not paying attention) and is sending you the message that you can't, you can't do it because you don't know how. You can't do it because what does it matter if you do do it, you can't do it cause you're not talented enough etc, etc, etc.  The "I can't" mind chatter is powerful.  Have you noticed when you are procrastinating  the things you go do are the easy things. Have you ever asked yourself why?  Okay don't throw tomatoes, I know, I know because they're easy-but also because you know you can.  The thought; that you can is very motivating. That thought gives you the little boost you need to get into action right?  Have you noticed when you make a sale how very very motivated you are to paint some more?

So if or when you find yourself in that stuck mode, be still for a moment and notice the mind chatter, go below the I'm lazy thought and dig deeper.  Remind yourself...you can do it! Or remember a time that you had a successful moment and dwell in that energy for a spell and then go forth and prosper!
