About the Painting
Yet another in my "flowers in a bag" series.  This name popped into my head because when I looked at the painting I saw a group of ladies all talking a mile a minute. In my imagination they had all gathered for lunch at a very trendy restaurant. So instead of looking at each other while they talked and lunched, they were busy looking at who was there and looking to see who was looking at them.  The one lady looking down had just bent over to look in her purse for lipstick.  Silly, isn't it?

This painting along with 25 others are on display at the First Presbyterian Church in Austin, TX.  The name of the show is Blooms, Buds, and Bold Abstraction.  Cleverly named by my friend and cohort in the show Debbi Smith Rourke.  As I'm sure you can guess, I"m the Blooms and Buds of the show and she is the Bold Abstraction.  See some of Debbi's work here.  There will be a reception this Sunday August 18th from 10:00-1:00 pm.  8001 Mesa Drive, Austin, TX.  I would love to see your smiling faces.  Here is a pic of all the little bag paintings all dressed up in their Sunday best clothes  (i.e. framed)
